Pre School Camp

This will be our sixth summer at Let It Shine and we look forward to May and Summer Camp literally from the day we walk out of the gym on Camps last day in August.

Some of you might understand when I say my son is a Show Hope baby, adopted from Russia in 2006. Spending his first 18 months in an orphanage, one of eight babies to a crib, definitely started his life at a disadvantage mentally and physically categorizing him as a ‘special needs’ child. With all due respect to the great school and therapists that we work with during the regular school year – those 9 months can’t compare to the changes that occur in our three months at Let It Shine.

The AMAZING staff and programs at Let It Shine are in a league of their own. LIS Summer Camp coaches are all the most sincere, caring encouragers I have ever seen under one roof. Each child is loved on as an individual, not just another face in the crowd. They have never made me feel like working with Micah’s special needs is an imposition – just the opposite – Coach Leigh Ann has come along side me to work with me every step of the way. Investing in Micah’s gross motor skills, watching the the mental and physical growth that happens at Summer Camp is nothing short of amazing! It has been one of the Lords greatest tools in our life and I will be forever grateful for the people, vision and ministry of Let It Shine.

Tramp & Tumble

Let It Shine Gymnastics has Trampoline and Power Tumbling!  Trampoline and tumbling is a sport that consists of four events:  trampoline, double-mini trampoline, synchronized trampoline and power tumbling.  This program is available for boy and girl athletes ages 3 to 18.  We know that everyone loves to jump on a trampoline, here at Let it Shine we give the athletes the knowledge of trampoline safety as well as many position jumps, drops and flips.  The tumbling part of our program teaches basic tumbling skills including handstands, round-offs and back handsprings.  We offer three different programs under the Trampoline and Tumbling name:  Trampoline and Tumbling Pre-recreation, Recreation including advanced classes and our Competitive Trampoline and Tumbling team.

Pre-Recreation Trampoline and Tumbling:  This program offers an introduction to trampoline and tumbling for the younger athletes.  Starting at age 3, your child can learn the how to bounce on the trampoline and tumbling skills such as cartwheels, handstands and even back handsprings.  We know all athletes are different, not everyone enjoys bars and beam.  The trampoline and tumbling program gives your younger child another option within this same type of sport.

Recreation Trampoline and Tumbling:  The recreation program for trampoline and tumbling is our most popular program.  Let It Shine has offered this program on a small scale for many years, but since we are expanding into the building next door we will have the ability to offer many more class options including beginner, intermediate and advanced.  Our goal for this program is to give your athlete the knowledge to bounce on a trampoline, perform many jumps, drops and flips; which can be used in many sports or for recreational bouncing.  Another one of the trampolines we use is the double-mini trampoline.  On this trampoline the athlete runs and jumps on it, performs two skills and lands on a mat.  This event is unique to most athletes in the area since Let It Shine is the only gym that has one.  Here at Let It Shine, we strive to teach your child how to tumble the safest ways possible, we use many mats and stations as well as hands on spotting.  Our goal is to help your athlete learn to the sport of trampoline and tumbling in the most fun, safe and exciting way possible.

Competitive Trampoline and Tumbling Team:  Trampoline and Tumbling is a nationally competitive sport.  Not many gyms in the state of Tennessee offer a competitive trampoline and tumbling team, Let It Shine is one that does.  We are the largest trampoline and tumbling team in the region.  Last year alone, we had eleven top ten winners at the Junior Olympic National Championships.  This program offers four competitive events:  trampoline, double-mini trampoline, power tumbling and synchronized trampoline.  We have some of the youngest competitive athletes on this team; the athletes can compete as young as age four.  Our competition team consists of boys and girls and competes levels 1-10 and in the past has had a few elite athletes.

Although, not as popular as artistic gymnastics.  Let It Shine Gymnastics is where you can learn trampoline and tumbling we offer an exciting, high bouncing and fast flipping program.
